Indoor bowls for Health & Wellbeing

Indoor Bowl for Health Courses

With support from Halton Housing’s 20 for 20 campaign, the club will deliver a series of indoor bowl for health courses at the new Halton Leisure Centre. These sessions will take place in February and March, offering older adults a gentle, low-impact way to stay active and connected during the winter months.

Participants will be introduced to the basics of bowls in a warm, indoor setting, with the option to progress to outdoor Crown Green bowls in the spring. The club will provide all equipment, three qualified coaches, and around 50-60 volunteer hours to support the programme.

Community Impact

The project is expected to benefit around 25 residents aged 55 and over across Halton, including Halton Housing customers. The sessions promote physical activity, mental stimulation, and social interaction, helping to reduce isolation and improve overall wellbeing.

By offering free access and removing financial barriers, the initiative ensures that older adults can participate regardless of income or background.

Working Together with Halton Housing

Hough Green Park Pensioners Club looks forward to collaborating with Halton Housing on publicity and outreach, ensuring residents are aware of and able to access the programme. This partnership will help extend the club’s reach and support more older adults in leading active, connected lives.
